Weird WEIRD dreams.

I've read, or heard, that dreams are not the mirrors of reality, but instead just a fairytale pieced out by our brain, filled with short stories that exist in our memories or mind.

For example, you went to the supermarket today to do some grocery shopping, followed by a trip to the nature park, in which you unfortunately had the chance to be chased by a hungry monkey. Possibly, your dream would be an atrocious story of being chased by a monkey eating a Kit-Kat bar in a supermarket with endless aisles!

Let's imagine our brain is a giant bookshelf, filled with millions of books telling different stories and tales of our life. Some may contain a happy story of a time long ago when the kind Mrs Lam helped you with your writing or a scary encounter with a pervert lurking in a corner at the void deck. Perhaps it may hold your deepest and darkest secret, some so scary you wouldn't want to be reminded of. However, every single thing that has ever happened in your life will be dutifully recorded without fail.

I love dreaming. It brings me to many places unimaginable, it gives me the power to decide what I want to do, what I want to think, without anybody knowing in an unknown world.

However, nightmares are inevitable too. I heard that nightmares occur more frequently when you sleep in a cold room. Perhaps its our subconsious mind playing mean tricks on us, leading many to wake up terrified from deep sleep or young children to bawl in the middle of the night. Or perhaps, its a silent confession we made, a combination of evil thoughts that we harbour unknowingly, or just a fear of something that we've never dared to say.

Though dreams may be good or may be bad, its a representation of what we think, what we feel, and most importantly, what we are. Some may be absurd, some may be scary, some may be plain wonderful but afterall, dreams are dreams. Some stuff are better left in fantasy.

Cheers! <3
